Finasteride is FDA approved for the treatment of male pattern baldness. DHT blockers like Finasteride are effective for women as well, however they need to be avoided if pregnant or breastfeeding as they can cause birth defects. We use Dutasteride instead of Finasteride as studies show greater results with Dutasteride with female pattern hair thinning.
